Monodomous Competition Entry
‘Monodomous’ living as a community in a single nest, as certain termite colonies.
Monodomous is the end result of a 24hr international completion based on biomimetic’s. As a group
of five students we were challenged to design a collective housing building that was based around
the concept of biomimetics, ‘Biomimetic refers to human-made processes, substances, devices, or
systems that imitate nature’. Monodomous was generated after looking at the collective
phenomenons of the greatest natural Architects of our world the termites.
